About Danfoss Flomatic

Flomatic Corporation located in Glens Falls, upstate New York, is a manufacturer of high quality valves primarily for domestic and municipal water and wastewater applications. Forrest S. White founded the company in 1933 in Hoosick Falls, New York (40 miles north east of Albany) as the White Flomatic Corporation. At that time, the main products that the company manufactured were bronze check valves, regulators and hot water circulators for industrial and domestic heating. Wilbur C. Rice became the president in 1962, at which time a program to modernize the plant and machinery began and the focus turned strictly to water and wastewater valves.

Flomatic expanded internationally in 1975 by joining forces with Socla, a French valve company well respected throughout Europe. In 1979, Bo Andersson, currently the President and Chairman of the Board of Flomatic Corporation, assumed the leadership role and has continued the traditions of high quality, innovation and industry leadership for which Flomatic is known. Introduction of automatic control valves and backflow preventers were made, both designed and manufactured by Flomatic. The Company’s position in the worldwide market was further improved in 1992 when it introduced the first unleaded bronze valves, the ENVIRO-Check . Flomatic also became a member of the Water Valve Division of the Danfoss Group. Danfoss is a well known global manufacturing company, with over $2.3 billion in sales, 18,000 employees operating in 100 different countries world wide, with world headquarters based in Nordborg, Denmark.

Today Flomatic specializes in check valves, foot valves, automatic hydraulic control valves and backflow preventers directed at the domestic, industrial, municipal and irrigation markets. Our valves are used in the heartland of rural America to large municipal water valves from coast to coast, Boston and New York City to the City of Los Angeles.
